About Junebug Soaps

Welcome! Junebug Soaps has been in business since December 2005. I started out with 4 different kinds of bar soaps and some bath salts at a small craft fair, sharing a table with my sister-in-law and her jewelry. Since then I have added several new products and tried many new bar soap recipes. I still sell at various craft fairs and boutiques and I started this website in May 2009. I continue to try new things and recreate old favorites. Thanks for visiting and I hope you've found what you're looking for!

Special Orders

I am happy to take special requests, however, if you want to special order bar soap, please be aware that it takes about a month to cure, so it will take 4 to 6 weeks from the time I recieve payment to the time you recieve your shipment. If you'd rather not wait that long, then feel free to order from what I have currently available. Thanks!

Important Info-diclaimer

My soaps and bath products are made using plant based oils and botanicals. They are also made in my home kitchen, so here is my disclaimer that they are produced in a facility that also uses nut products, wheat, dairy, eggs, and soy. However, I do use great care to not cross contaminate anything...my soap with my food and my food with my soap. One note of possible cross contamination is that I use my wheat grinder to grind my oats into flour. If you have issues with gluten, you may want to avoid my oatmeal soap and the Brown Vanilla Sugar scrub as oat flour is used as an exfoliant in each.

About the Essential oils and Fragrance Oils I use...

For most of my recipes, I use high quality, cosmetic grade essential oils and fragrances. This means they are safe to use in cosmetics or any other product to be used on the skin. This is what my supplier says about their fragrances: Many fragrance oils are blended from essential oils, but because they are not guaranteed to be 100% essential oil they are called fragrance oils. All of our fragrance oils are cosmetic grade.

For a few of my recipes, I use dōTERRA essential oils, which are certified pure, therapeutic grade oils. The majority of these oils are not only safe to use on the skin but also safe to use internally. Due to their higher therapeutic grade, they are also quite a bit more expensive. If I use dōTERRA oils in any given recipe, it will be labeled as such, and the price will be higher.

About the Fixed or Carrier Oils I use...

Some of my soaps are made using coconut oil and others use soybean oil in addition to their other ingredients. In my extended family, there are some who are allergic to nuts including coconut, and others who have problems with soy. So, as soon as I use up my current supply of each of those oils, I will modify any recipes that used those oils to using other oils that are safe for those individuals. Rest assured, the quality of my soap and bath products will remain the same high quality we all expect.

My liquid hand soap moisturizes as it cleans, leaving your hands feeling nice and soft. Each foaming pump bottle contains 8 oz of liquid soap.

Traveling Boutique

I would like to introduce you to our Traveling Boutique.

What is a Traveling Boutique? We are a group of vendors that work together to promote one another and ourselves, to help grow each other's business.

What do we do? We come to your home and put on an "In Home Boutique." We work around your schedule and help promote your boutique by listing your event on our Traveling Boutique page on Facebook. What do you do? You choose the day and time frame for your boutique. It can be a whole day event or just 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon or evening, or anything in between. You also get to choose which vendors you would like to host. We have a variety of vendors, which include:

Scrubs - General Info

Scrubs are so lovely on the skin. They gently buff away dry, tired skin and lock in moisture. They're great as a full body scrub, used in the shower. I also like to use them on my hands after working out in my yard/garden because it leaves them feeling so soft and healthy.

My scrubs come in three sizes:
4 oz for $3.25
8 oz for $5.00
16 oz for $8.25

Bath Salts - General Info

My bath salts come in two sizes. The large one contains 16 oz and the small one is 4 oz. We use around 1/2 cup of salts per bath for a regular sized bathtub. If you do the same, you'll get 4 baths out of the large container, and the small one equals a single use. Use around 2 tablespoons salts in a baby sized tub.

New! Unscented Liquid Soap

I have found that the preferred amount of fragrance in a product can vary from one person to the next. I personally use a moderate amount of fragrance, but others may want slightly less or lots more. And, still others may simply want to create their own scent blends with their own favorite essential oil brand. This naturally moisturizing hand soap is ready for your preferred amount of fragrance, to make it uniquely yours.

Ginger Snap Liquid Soap

Like a Holiday Cookie Jar! Sweet, spicy notes of ginger mix artfully with middle notes of cardamom, cassia and caraway finished off with a light dusting of sugary vanilla.

Cinnamon Toffee Liquid Soap

Smells just like it sounds. Buttery like toffee and sweet like cinnamon. Mmm.

Fresh Peach Liquid Soap

Mmm, peach. One of my favorite scents! It is sweet and tangy, complex and very refreshing.

Apple Jack Liquid Soap

A festive combination of McIntosh red apples, juicy oranges and Madagascar vanilla perfectly complimented with a special blend of spices.

Hazelmint Toner

A blend of witch hazel, apple cider vinegar, and a touch of honey infused with pepppermint. 4 oz.

This is excellent for oily skin. It helps add moisture to the skin, combats acne, and clears up the red spots from old acne areas.

Bar Soaps - general info

My bar soaps are handmade and hand cut, so no two bars will be identical. I trim the corners to give the soap a more finished look, and it also makes the bars have a nicer feel. Since I cold process my soap, it has to cure for about a month to let the excess water evaporate out. If I didn't trim the edges, they would become rather sharp as it cured, making it not have as nice a feel upon being used. So, I choose to trim it.

Each bar weighs between 3.75 and 4 oz.

When I have 10 or fewer of a particular bar, I'll post how many I have left. If it is a popular bar, then I'll be making more soon!

Lemon Lime Sugar Scrub

This scrub uses white granulated sugar and a small amount of lemon or lime peel for exfoliation, olive oil for moisture, and lemon and lime essential oils for a cheerful uplifting scent.

This scrub is so nice for shaving. I'll give my legs a good scrub, rinse off the sugar, and then shave with the oil that is left on my legs. It leaves my legs smoother and softer than any shave gel I've ever tried.

Orange Citronella: a tangy blend of orange, citronella, and eucalyptus oils with flecks of dried orange peel.

French Green Clay: a more masculine scented bar with orange and cedarwood essential oils.
